9/19Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run Fall 2016 – Program Starts the week of September 19th! See below for more details.

9/22 – ELAC (English Language Learner parent meeting) is Thursday, September 22nd at 8:15am in the Library

9/29 – School Site Council is the Thursday, September 29th at 2:45pm in the Library.

The school Site Council meets 4 to 6 times a school year. It is similar to a School Board meeting. The agenda is posted on the bulletin board by the office and has to be posted 72 hours in advance. There is an opportunity for public comment at the beginning of the meeting and the public is always welcome. We will be reviewing the proposed budget for our school site plan and Ms. Olmsted will be asking for committee approval. It is a living document throughout next school year and changes may be made with approval of the committee.

This is another great place to learn about supplemental money, how we spend it and to hear what teachers who are on site council have to say. Also, another great place to offer feedback as a parent.

9/30Annual Walkathon. Our Walkathon is scheduled for Friday, September 30th, and the committee is now forming. Your PTA Board is serving as committee chair for this important event. Being an Olympic year, we have decided on a sports theme, and we have lots of good ideas to start with for prizes, fundraising efforts and organized execution. But we need your help! If you’d like to be part of our committee, please email me atpresident@proctorterracepta.org
Let’s kick off a great new year!

At the end of the program, all girls participate in a non-competitive 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk event as a final personal challenge for the season (taking place December 5th).  Crossing the finish line produces a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction in everyone.  To learn more, visit www.gotrsonomacounty.org.
